Description

Hand carve a realistic butterfly or a fanciful flutterby! You will learn basic carving and painting techniques to create delicate-looking butterflies that are surprisingly sturdy. They can be turned into a brooch, magnet, plant stake, decoration, or Christmas ornament. Once you learn the basics, there is no end to the designs you can create!

Class size 8

Level Beginner and above

Student Supply List Carving bench knife, #3 carving gouge—preferably about 3/4″-1″ wide (Flex cut offers affordable carving tools), pictures/drawings of butterflies

Lee Ann was fortunate to be raised in a creative and nature-loving family. She grew up camping and hiking all over the country, and her parent always nurtured and encouraged creativity. Her father taught himself woodworking and furniture making, and her mother has been a wood carver for over 35 years, following in the footsteps of her father and grandfather. Lee Ann loves the joy and the community that wood carving affords, and she looks forward to to share her craft with others.

Materials fees listed at the end of each workshop description will be added to the shopping cart as you make your selections.

Day fees include: your choice of workshops, lunch, snacks, beverages, and evening activities. Thursday and Sunday registrants are welcome to attend evening events on Friday or Saturday.

Half-day fees include: your choice of morning/afternoon workshops, am/pm snacks, and beverages. Does NOT include lunch, which can be purchased separately.
