Makers & shakers Art Party
Third Wednesday of the Month
411 Commerce St.
From March to November, all are welcome to gather in the Lind Pavilion for creative camaraderie. Newcomers are always welcome as well as youth ages 12 and up.
Each month a new project is planned and announced. Participants and/or local artists take turns leading projects, introducing new materials and sharing techniques.
There’s no need to bring anything but yourself, as all necessary supplies will be waiting when you arrive thanks to the instructor.
This is a friendly group with a wide variety of skill sets and interests- and a great group for beginners to get their feet wet with a variety of art styles!
Project fee: $5. Additional materials fee may apply depending on project. Occasionally you are asked to bring a few supplies.
Have a project in mind that can be completed in two hours?
Email a short description of the project to us along with your preferred month! You can always lead with a friend as well! Include in your description if you’d like students to bring certain things or if you will need additional materials fee to be reimbursed.
Greet the season with a fresh 12 x 18” fabric banner! No need to have sewing skills – we’ll use the miracle of fusible webbing and old-fashioned ironing to join your upbeat floral motifs to a prepared panel. You’ll leave with a cheerful decoration you can hang in your yard or garden, on your front door or patio or somewhere in your home! Fabric, tools, and stencils provided, but you may wish to bring large or small sharp scissors for fabric, and an iron.
Project fee $5 Material fee $7
Project fee waived for middle and high school students. Call the office to register!
Join Cheryl Smeja and learn to make 3 styles of shawl pins using heavy gauge copper or bronze wire: a Stick Pin, where the pin stem is separate from a closed circle design; a Penannular, where the pin stem is connected to an open circle; a Fibula, which is made like a safety pin. All tools and wire will be provided.
