Let go of the idea that you have to complete anything in this half-day workshop of creative play and instead experiment with a whole bunch of beginnings! Artist Mollie Oblinger and writer Christina Kubasta will engage you in a series of creative play exercises and prompts designed to inspire, utilizing text, voice, visuals, paper folding, and color. Think about sound and the tactile; play with cross-genre writing and collaborative forms; put your work on the wall and pull it down and mess around. Open to everyone ages 13 & up. Materials Fee includes paper, art supplies for creating, collage materials, etc.

Christina Kubasta is a poet and fiction writer who also explores collaboration and connection with the visual arts — she also once worked at a small press and book bindery. Her most recent book is the short story collection Abjectification (Apprentice House, 2020), and her next poetry book is forthcoming in 2025.
