A Picnic & A Play
a staged-reading series at alley stage
Enjoy Saturday afternoons at Shake Rag Alley for our inaugural staged-reading series. Six Wisconsin playwrights will present original plays in progress on our intimate outdoor theater, Alley Stage. Besides being fun to watch, a staged reading is an important way a playwright can get important feedback from an audience (you!) and determine what their next steps are with the script.
What to expect:
- Start with lunch: Picnics can be purchased below and will be available for pick-up in the Shake Rag Alley Cafe at noon. You’re also welcome to bring your picnic from home. Local musicians will provide entertainment while you eat. Non-alcoholic beverages plus wine and beer will be available for purchase.
- 1 pm: The actors and moderator will take the stage with their scripts.
- Talkback: Stay after the play and share your feedback with the playwright.
- Rain or Shine: In the event of inclement weather, we will move to Green Lantern Gallery, 261 High St., Mineral Point WI.
