Mixed Media Multiples in Oil & Cold Wax

Abstract multiples are a great way to experiment while you work in a design-related series. We’ll use same-sized square cradled wood panels to create a piece from multiple parts. Choose your preferred size: 12″ to 18″ for three to six multiples, 8″ to 10″ for groupings of eight or nine (depth of cradle up to you). To a base of painted or marked papers we’ll add layers of oil paint mixed with cold wax using brayers, brushes, and/or squeegees. Top layers may include drawing into the surface. Built around your choice of theme, each grouping will be both varied and interconnected — an excellent way to think about working in a series and create a path to establish, integrate, and maintain a personal style.
