Learn to make fibulas! First used by the Greeks for fastening garments, spread throughout Europe by the Romans and brought to an elaborate decorative peak by the Etruscans, fibulas are essentially based on the safety pin design. In other words, a fastener where the spring, pin stem, and catch are fashioned from a single wire. In between, well … that’s where the fun starts.
