Cake Decorating with Royal Icing

There is a charming story that royal icing was so named when it decorated Queen Victoria’s wedding cake in 1840. Not true, but today, royal icing continues to be a common medium for cake decorating and piping. In this hands-on class, learn the art of basic border piping and string work using royal icing. The class will begin with a demonstration on how to make royal icing, followed by a discussion of the different types of royal icing and their applications.

All tools and ingredients will be provided.
