Artful Blacksmithing

Is it wall art or garden art? In this class the choice is yours. You will create a scene with cattail leaves and seed pods with dragonflies and fish, all within an 18″ x27″ steel channel frame. The project will be relatively lightweight and the display options are many. Blacksmithing techniques used will be a fuller, a swage block, as well as creating plant, dragonfly and fish details using common and specialty chisels. The use of various finishes and techniques will complete the project for display. If you’ve taken one of the beginning or 101 classes it will allow you to have more time for detail and finishes, but it is not required. The propane gas forge will be used.
