Jonna has finally settled down in Mineral Point as the Program Manager at Shake Rag Alley after various professional opportunities in historic preservation and the arts led her to several U.S. states and Europe. With a head for historic preservation and a heart for art, she earned her Master of Fine Arts degree in historic preservation from the Savannah College of Art & Design and went on to direct their study abroad program in France. Jonna is an amateur mixed media artist, painter, maker, and unbridled collector of art supplies and paper scraps.

Carol White has had a love for jewelry making for over 25 years. Over the years, she has taken numerous classes at Eclectica, Sievers, Bead & Button Show and Shake Rag Alley, as well as many online classes. Carol enjoys working with metals—etching, riveting, soldering and metal clay. She holds a PMC (Precious Metal Clay) level 4 certification. Living in the country surrounded by woods, her chickens and her gardens, Carol’s unique creations are often nature inspired. Carol has shared her knowledge by teaching friends in group settings.
Carol and Gena DeRemer met a number of years ago in a jewelry making class. They enjoy collaborating and sharing jewelry ideas and techniques. Their joint love for gardening and jewelry making has led to a great friendship and several girls trips.

Joelle White has been throwing pottery for 10 years. She studied from 2008 to 2011 at UW-Platteville, acquiring a biology and art background. After graduation she developed a love for the wood-fired pottery process and enjoys decorating the surfaces of her functional pots with floral designs.

Katie White grew up on a farm in Stockton, IL. She graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2012 with a BFA degree in ceramics. She has participated in ceramic residencies throughout the country including the Cub Creek Foundation in Appomattox, VA, Red Lodge Clay Center in Red Lodge, MT, as well as at Wichita State University in Wichita, KS. Katie moved to Mineral Point in June 2017 and worked as studio assistant at Bruce Howdle Studio. She continues to create her pottery and sculpture at the Globe Clay Center and wood fires in the Mineral Point area.

Dawn Wians is a Wisconsin artist working in mixed media to express abstract landscapes and nature-inspired art. She uses nature as a material reference to make sense of and give meaning to her work. She shares: “Trained as a designer, I am drawn to the elements of line, color, value, shape, scale and texture, as well as the forms they become and the way we experience them. These are compositional skill sets that I teach throughout my workshops.” As an instructor, she enjoys guiding and encouraging other artists as they explore experimental approaches with oil, wax and water-based media. In 2019 she removed plastics, toxins and solvents from her studio practice. All of her workshops and classes follow these standards.

I am obsessed with design, negative shape making and the ruggedness of the north. These obsessions led me to study Canadian painters, most notably Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven, who worked primarily in the early 1900’s. The illustrative style is personally relatable to me. Their career paths evolved from graphic designers, to illustrators, to painters. This has been my path as well.
Finding rhythm in the landscape has become a hallmark of my work. Rhythm to me is connecting highlight shapes with linked shadow shapes in an interesting way that creates movement and pathways for the eye.
My technique uniquely combines opaque acrylic with transparent watercolor that stylizes the landscape and is influenced by printmakers and batik artists. Their approach to creating negative shapes is similar to how I construct and distill my scenes.

Gail is a mixed media artist who works with photography, assemblage, collage, and ceramics. She loves experimenting and combining as many of these mediums as she can in her work — whatever it takes to express an idea! Having been a teacher in adult education for 30 years, she loves teaching all levels of students. Her work can be seen locally and nationally in museum and gallery shows. She happily lives amid nature in southeastern Wisconsin.

During her art teaching days at Wingra School in Madison, Lindy’s favorite class offering was “Mish Mosh” Fridays. That’s when the kids were greeted by an overabundance of art supplies, found objects, “whatzits”, sticks and other gifts from nature. Lindy marveled at the creative and unique assemblages that were born. That sort of creative spirit is what calls Lindy to the Woodlanders Gatherings! Her mantra…”what else could this be?”

Greg Winz brings a background in metallurgy as well as some Folklore Village showmanship to his blacksmithing workshops. Greg, trained as a machinist, retired as a research technician from UW-Madison. He enjoys sharing his love of the metal arts with aspiring students.

Anthony Wood is an artist, writer and film maker living in the quiet hills of the Driftess Region in Highland, WI. “Flights of Fancy” a show of his paintings of Midwest birds opened the Fall Art Tour at Longbranch Gallery in Mineral Point in October of 2025.

Shiree Woodard is a visual artist who feels most alive when creating and finds inspiration in the curiosities of everyday life. With a deep passion for supporting fellow makers, she loves helping people bring imagination into the tangible, through hands-on exploration and sharing techniques. She earned a BA in Art with an emphasis on Printmaking and Watercolor from Western Michigan University and then studied Art Therapy at Southwestern College in Santa Fe, NM. She later, co-created Process Art Studio in Madrid, NM alongside her husband Andrew. Today she is excited to be part of the vibrant Mineral Point community where she continues her art practice and helps to offer 3D printing services to the area.

Alyssa Zasada is a creative in the Driftless Region dabbling in music, art, and mindfulness. You’ll often find her in community singing circles and sharing joy as a member of Prairie Lights String Band.
