Registration Deadline: July 14

Description

In order to continue the crucial conversations that began during our 2020 NEA Big Read of Claudia Rankine’s award-winning “Citizen: An American Lyric,” Shake Rag Alley is hosting a monthly antiracism book club.

Join us via Zoom to discuss Caste, by Isabel Wilkerson.

In this brilliant book, Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents, Pulitizer-prize winning author Isabel Wilkerson gives us a masterful portrait of an unseen phenomenon in America as she explores, through an immersive, deeply researched narrative and stories about real people, how America today and throughout its history has been shaped by a hidden caste system, a rigid hierarchy of human rankings.
