Ever wonder what to do with old silk neckties worn by loved ones in your life? They will live on through Cathy’s mystery process of color transfer from silk ties to a blank silk scarf. You’ll enjoy wearing a memory-rich scarf or giving one to someone who’ll treasure necktie imprints. Bring a minimum of three ties or use ties that Cathy will have on hand in class. Deep colors (reds, blues, dark yellows, orange, greens, etc.) work best. (Ties will not survive the process, so don’t bring a favorite tie.) You will complete two scarves during class and prepare one to take home to finish later.

Cathy Kitto is a retired educator with 40 years of experience in six states and England as a teacher and school principal. Since retiring she has been able to pursue her interest and develop her skills in fabric art, specifically painting on silk and nature printing on shirts and other fabrics. When not enjoying her new-found hobby, you can find her in her garden playing with her flowers.
Workshops
Add the $125 Woodlanders Day Fee for Saturday (or $65 Half-Day Fee) to your cart, then select as many Saturday workshops as you wish, ensuring that your choices don’t overlap times. Materials fees listed at the end of each workshop description will be added to the shopping cart as you make your selections.
Day fees include: your choice of workshops, lunch, snacks, beverages, and evening activities. Thursday and Sunday registrants are welcome to attend evening events on Friday or Saturday.
Half-day fees include: your choice of morning/afternoon workshops, am/pm snacks, and beverages. Does NOT include lunch, which can be purchased separately.
