Using two wooden fish cutouts and a 14” frame (provided) you’ll assemble a sculpture to hang up or sit on a table. By attaching funky found and foraged objects, such as rusty bits, or natural materials (also provided), and adding some carving, burning, or painting, you’ll come away with a truly one of a kind work of art. Jamie, Lee Ann, and Shelley will inspire you throughout this full day process. Feel free to bring treasures from your own stash, such as: broken jewelry, metal scraps, seed pods, shells, or sea glass etc. We will provide basic tools, wood burners, paint, and adhesive.

Jamie Rogness is a highly creative and versatile artist who works in a broad range of mediums, predominently using natural materials. She is a master woodcarver, working with both hand and power tools to create intricate sculptures from tree branches and exquisite designs on ostrich eggs. Her concrete leaf castings are beautifully realistic. She has taught a variety of classes at the annual Woodlanders Gathering at Shake Rag Alley for over 10 years, including handsome, handmade lampshades with a touch of nature.
Workshops
Lee Ann was fortunate to be raised in a creative and nature-loving family. She grew up camping and hiking all over the country, and her parent always nurtured and encouraged creativity. Her father taught himself woodworking and furniture making, and her mother has been a wood carver for over 35 years, following in the footsteps of her father and grandfather. Lee Ann loves the joy and the community that wood carving affords, and she looks forward to to share her craft with others.
Workshops
Add the $125 Woodlanders Day Fee for Saturday (or $65 Half-Day Fee) to your cart, then select as many Saturday workshops as you wish, ensuring that your choices don’t overlap times. Materials fees listed at the end of each workshop description will be added to the shopping cart as you make your selections.
Day fees include: your choice of workshops, lunch, snacks, beverages, and evening activities. Thursday and Sunday registrants are welcome to attend evening events on Friday or Saturday.
Half-day fees include: your choice of morning/afternoon workshops, am/pm snacks, and beverages. Does NOT include lunch, which can be purchased separately.
