Description

We’re visual artists. We rely on our hands to express our ideas. Join me in making an artwork that celebrates your hand — and your essential self. Using fabrics, yarns, beads, and decorative stitching, we’ll make a piece incorporating an accurate silhouette of your dominant hand, and a symbol that stands for your core interests. A friendly no-sew technique will establish your base composition, and then it’s all fun with embellishment! You’ll leave this workshop with a modest-sized panel that can hang softly on the wall, be stretched onto a frame, decorate a funky garment, or be incorporated into a larger piece. No previous sewing experience needed – we’ll feature basic stitches, and in irregularity find the unique beauty of YOUR handwork.

All materials included.

Class size 8

Level Beginner and above

Student Supply List Bring good scissors, large and small, if you have them, and reading glasses if you use them. Fancy doo-dads like charms, beads, lace and unusual yarns or fabrics may be useful, but we’ll have plenty.

  • Tuition $140
  • Materials Fee $15
