Pinching & Coiling: Explore Functional Pottery

Join Chicago artist Laura Williams to create charming cups, bowls, plates, lidded jars, spoons, vases, and teapots using the handbuilding methods of pinching and coiling. This course is ideal for beginners and seasoned hand builders alike. You will also learn about decorating your wares using underglazes and slip. All wares will be clear glazed, fired and, if needed, shipped for an additional fee. If local, you can arrange for pick up at Shake Rag Alley after firing by the Globe Clay Center ($10 per piece for both firings — bisque and glaze — paid directly to the Globe Clay Center at the end of class).
