Rug Hooking Retreat: Traditional Rug Hooking focusing on Hit or Miss

This is an open class for traditional rug hooking with a focus on Hit or Miss style. Hit or Miss is a technique that goes back to the origins of rug hooking. People used fabric scraps they had to make a rug. If they ran out, they used something else. You will learn all the different ways to use Hit or Miss in your rugs. No longer random strips, but now intentional use of value and color. This is a great technique to repurpose clothing, fabric, yarn and fiber. Bring your scraps of wool and cut strips that you don’t know what to do with and make beautiful rugs. A small bag of cut strips and handouts will be provided in class.
